8   Links

This Privacy Policy applies to all data collected and processed by ECUtronic. In a few cases, the ECUtronic websites use a link that leads you directly to the website of another provider for whose content the respective provider is responsible. We assume no responsibility for the content and the handling of external websites. Thus, when leaving ECUtronic websites, we recommend that you ask for the privacy policy of the operators of the linked websites.

 Cookies

Our Internet pages also use so-called “cookies". Cookies are small text files that are stored locally on your computer. They cause no damage there, contain no viruses and are used only for recognition purposes. Cookies allow us, for example, to identify your preferences and thereby to adjust our website and navigation to your needs. If you refuse the use of cookies (by a possible setting in your browser), the use of our website is still possible, but may be restricted in certain respects.

You will find further information about cookies in section 10 of this Privacy Policy.

10   Web analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider of these services is Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
For more information on how user data is handled by Google Analytics, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy:

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the storage of cookies by a corresponding setting of your browser software. However, please note that by doing so, you may not be able to use all the features of this website to the fullest extent possible.

In addition, you may prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

11   Social media plugins

The website of ECUtronic may use third-party content (so-called plug-ins). These can take the form of YouTube videos, RSS feeds or graphics of other sites or through social media buttons, such as the Facebook “Share” button.

We include content from the social networks LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, XING, and Kununu on our website in order to improve the presentation of our website and to link our website.

If you are on a ECUtronic website where third-party content is involved, it may happen that under certain circumstances a connection with the respective social network will be established in the background. This allows the transfer of the content of the buttons to your browser and from the browser to the website. This means that the respective provider always receives the information that you have called up the ECUtronic website. For this, it does not matter if you are a member of a social network or if you are logged in. Furthermore, regardless of whether you actually interact with the content involved, information is automatically collected through the social network.

When this occurs, the following data can be transmitted:

  • IP address

  • Browser information and operating system

  • Screen resolution

  • Installed browser plugins (e.g. Adobe Flash Player)

  • Origin of the visitor (from which page you have been linked to the ECUtronic website)

  • URL of the current page

If you are logged in to one of the social networks while using ECUtronic’s website, the information about accessing the website may be linked to your member data and stored. If you are a member of a social network and do not want this data to be transferred, you must log out of the social network before visiting the ECUtronic website.

If you use one of the plugins – for example, by commenting or using the share button – the provider can assign your accessing of the website directly to your profile. These data are transmitted directly to the social network, stored there and are used for profiling about you.

Furthermore, the corresponding information will be published in the respective social networks and showed to your contact persons.

ECUtronic has no influence on the extent of the data collected through the social networks. The nature, scope and purpose of the data collection, information about the further processing of the data as well as their respective rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the privacy regulations of the respective social network.

You also have the option of blocking social media plugins with add-ons in your browser and thus preventing data transmission.
