Our history
The company ECUtronic emerged from a cooperation between the Fraunhofer-Institute for Transportation- and Infrastructure Systems (IVI) in Dresden and the company HÜBNER from Kassel.
HÜBNER is a globally active supplier to the commercial vehicle industry and has been the parent company of ECUtronic since the company was founded in 2018.
The Fraunhofer IVI and the HÜBNER Group have been working together in the field of innovative city bus technologies for more than 15 years. The projects carried out together range from basic studies and analyses for specific HÜBNER products to elaborate large-scale international projects in which impressive prototypes of extra-long buses were created.
In the context of new requirements of ISO 26262:2018 for vehicles in the field of "Trucks and Busses" and the steadily increasing demand for control unit- and software development expertise, the plan was made to bundle the skills and know-how of the employees in a joint spin-off: the ECUtronic GmbH.
Since 2018, ECUtronic has been a subsidiary of the HÜBNER Group and is mainly involved in the application and integration of vehicle control units for a wide range of applications on the road.
Much of the innovation in the commercial vehicle industry takes place in the areas of vehicle electronics and software. New functions must first be designed, developed, implemented and later tested. This is precisely where ECUtronic's field of activity lies.
Over the past years, the strong connection between ECUtronic and the Fraunhofer IVI has proven itself in a multitude of projects and developments. The teams of both institutions appreciate the cooperation and the collegiality with each other and are jointly there for our customers with strong motivation.
Due to the current demands on development processes and methods, which sometimes cause considerable efforts in product development, we have always been on the lookout for employees to expand our team since our foundation.
