We develop software solutions and supply application-specific electronic control units (ECUs) for commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment. Since our foundation in 2018, we have been working in compliance with industry-specific regulations for functional safety and cybersecurity.
Our focus is on products and services that remain affordable for small and medium-sized enterprises without compromising on quality or regulatory compliance.

Throughout the entire development and product lifecycle, we support you with expertise and dedication:
- Initial Consultation: We analyze your upcoming product and your company processes and jointly define a development plan.
- Concept and system development: Together with you, we create the development documentation required by applicable standards and make complex regulatory requirements tangible and understandable.
- ECU and software development: We develop the ECU and/or software for your vehicle system in accordance with internal and external requirements. Our generic ECU becomes your application-specific control unit.
- Production and after-sales: We deliver your ECU directly to your production line - reliably and sustainably. We remain available for support, questions, and field issues at all times.
Our structure
ECUtronic was founded through a collaboration between the Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (IVI) in Dresden and the HÜBNER Group.
HÜBNER is a globally operating supplier to the commercial vehicle industry and has been the parent company of ECUtronic since its foundation in 2018.
Fraunhofer IVI and the HÜBNER Group have been working together for more than 15 years in the field of innovative urban bus technologies. Their joint projects range from fundamental studies and analyses for specific HÜBNER products to large-scale international projects, including the development of impressive prototypes of extra-long buses.
